**PLEASE NOTE: STAFF WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE TO ASSIST BUYERS WITH LOADING OR REMOVAL.** Successful bidder will be responsible to provide all labor and equipment needed to safely remove.
SALE INSTRUCTIONS AND CONDITIONS
  1. The responsible bidder agrees to buy at the prices quoted. The right is reserved by the City to accept or reject quotations on each item separately or as a whole.
  2. It is expressly understood and agreed that the seller makes no representation or warranty as to the quality or quantity offered for sale and it is being purchased by the buyer upon buyer’s own examination and in an “AS IS – WHERE IS” basis. Bidders shall inspect and ascertain to their own satisfaction the exact quantities and condition of the material offered for sale.
  3. Successful bidder to furnish all labor and equipment necessary to remove the material; and shall be required to pay for and remove all within 5 working days after notice of award. In the event successful bidder shall pay the City within the required limit but neglect to remove the material within the required 4 working days, such material remaining on City premises will be subject to the legal storage rates unless provision for pickup has been agreed upon in writing by the City.
  4. Prospective bidders and purchaser shall hold the City harmless from all liability and claims for injury to or death of any and all persons, and for any and all damage to property, in any manner arising from or in connection with the inspection and/or removal of the material inspected or purchased. In any case where liability of the City to the successful bidder has been established, the extreme measure of the City liability shall not, in any event, exceed refund of the purchase price or such portion thereof as the City may have received.
  5. In the event bidder declines to complete purchase per the terms of this bid, such payment received shall be forfeited to the City of Los Angeles for non-compliance

Payment for an awarded item must be received within 3 business days of close of auction.

Sales Tax: City of Los Angeles may charge sales tax of 9.75%. The tax rate will be calculated at the time of bidding on an item(s). When sales tax is included, the buyer shall add and include the sales tax amount when making payment.

Buyers Premium: A 10% Buyers Premium will be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction to collect payment. This premium will be visible during the bidding process and added to the total bid.

All sales are final. Public Surplus will notify Buyer of receipt of payment via email. Buyer must remove auction item(s) within 3 business days of notification of close of auction. The payment receipt must be presented at the time of pick-up or the item will not be released to you.

The City of Los Angeles may require bid deposits to ensure fairness and equity to all buyers as a way to decrease default bidding.

Pick-up hours by appointment only. Successful bidder will be responsible for removal of item. Successful bidder will be responsible for cost of packing and/or shipping of any item(s) if necessary.
