State law prohibits parish employees and members of employee's immediate families from buying items at parish surplus auctions. This includes an employee's children, brothers, sisters, spouses of brothers and sisters, parents spouse and spouse's parents.

PICK UP

 Pick up must occur within ten (10) business days after receipt of payment.  Failure to pick up item(s) within ten (10) business days of after receipt of payment may result in forfeiture of payment and/or relist of auction item.

**Award winners must bring whatever manpower, strapping material or tie downs needed to safely load and secure auction item(s), or pick up may be refused.**

The original award winner will be responsible for removal and pick-up of auction item(s) from the agency's premises.  The “original award winner” will be determined by photo ID and the bidder’s online profile information. 

**Award winners must present a valid photo ID & paid receipt in order to pick-up the awarded item.**

For 3rd Party Pickup: Before property will be released, the winning buyer will be required to send an e-mail (from the winning buyer's e-mail address used for the auction), identifying the representative authorized to pick-up paid item on their behalf. The authorized representative will need to bring the Notice of Award, Paid Receipt (photo copies are acceptable), bill of lading (for transport or shipping company), and their picture identification (such as a Driver License). Subcontractors not disclosed herein will not be allowed to remove any vehicles. 
We must receive the letter and copy of license before we release any item.  

All pick-ups MUST be scheduled by calling 985-783-5000 and ask for procurement in ref of auction, and are only allowed from 8:30am-11:00am and 1:00pm-3:00pm Monday-Thursday. You must call at least 1 day prior to pick up for an appointment.

WE RECOMMEND ALL VEHICLES BE FULLY INSPECTED BY A MECHANIC BEFORE ANY PROLONGED DRIVING.

ABSENCE OF ANY MENTION OF DEFECTS DOES NOT MEAN THERE ARE NONE. WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE/EQUIPMENT *BEFORE* YOU BID.

WE DO NOT SHIP ITEMS.  Bidders may contact a local shipping company to pickup, package and ship their item(s).  We do NOT package, we do NOT place them in a box for you.  

We are not experts on the items listed for auction.  We receive them from multiple sources and are not responsible or accountable for the condition we receive them. 

We strongly recommend all bidders to personally inspect or have item inspected on your behalf any/all vehicles or equipment of interest, as all items offered for sale are used and may contain a number of unknown mechanical/operational defects. We do not inspect or perform any diagnostics on vehicles or equipment prior to offering items for sale to determine mechanical or operational condition. All company decals and license plates will be removed prior to releasing vehicle to purchaser.

Title may not be available at the time of delivery.  It may take up to two (2) weeks or more to receive the title.

No maintenance or repairs will be allowed on St. Charles Parish property. We will provide a jump start for the winning bidder.

A Buyers Premium of 10% will be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction for payment collections. This premium if applicable will be visible during the bidding process and added to the total bid.

All sales are final. Public Surplus will notify buyer of receipt of payment via email.

The successful bidder will be responsible for pick-up of item(s) from the agency's premises. Pick-up must occur within ten (10) business days after payment. The notice of award, payment receipt, and personal identification must be presented at time of pick-up, or the item will not be released.
